What will you be doing?

Join our commercial ninja’s team and provide financial and commercial support to our entire ecosystem. You will work with our other commercial ninjas, Agnese and Richard (you can find out more about them – and the rest of the MoreNiche team here).

You’ll look after invoicing, purchase ledger and financial reconciliation processes across our group of companies and get involved in financial forecasting, taxation and a whole bunch of other important things required for a growing business. On any given day you could be:

This is a ‘roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty’ type of role. 

If you’re looking to just tell others what to do, this is NOT the role or company for you. 

Just another day in the office

Your typical day will be:

  • Doing day to day accounts payable/receivable processing, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Running monthly invoicing and payment processing
  • Supporting the completion of monthly prepayments, accruals and journals
  • Supporting with preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with preparation of financial forecasts,  cash-flow analyses  and quarterly budgets for each of the group companies, as well as at group leve
  • Managing expense claims with credit card reconciliations etc
  • Supporting the commercial ninja’s with other ad hoc administration tasks
  • Removing blockers and simplifying workflows – keeping it simple is one of our core values

This role might be the one for you if:

  • You’re an approachable (i.e. nice) person with excellent communication skills and the ability to form good working relationships with team members 
  • You can work both independently and within a team to achieve shared goals
  • You’re highly organised and able to re-prioritise your workload depending on the urgency of requests
  • You have excellent attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach to tasks
  • You’ve got knowledge of key accounting principles and an understanding of the foundations for double-entry bookkeeping
  • You have a strong work ethic and determination to develop into the role with the support of the team
  • You’re competent using Excel and Google sheets – you’ll be using these a lot 
  • Bonus points if you’re already familiar with Xero online accounting software
  • You are radically inclusive and can work well with all types of people
  • You have the ability to constantly evolve, improve, adapt and innovate

It’d also be cool (but not absolutely necessary) if...

  • Experience working the financial function for a digital marketing or technology business
  • Started –  or have already achieved –   the first stages  of an accounting qualification  e.g. Accountancy Degree, AAT or other relevant certification

Remote working? Sure, why not?!

We have collaboration spaces in Nottingham, Palma and Riga. We’d love for you to spend time working there, but you don’t have to. We’ve got a growing bunch of remote workers based all over the world, so we’ll consider applications from anywhere. All we ask is:

  • Should you be invited, you will attend an interview either remotely or at one of our collaboration spaces, in Nottingham, Palma or Riga
  • If you bag the job, you spend your first two working weeks at one of our shared working spaces (we’ll pay your travel and accommodation expenses) so we can get you properly onboarded and making friends with your fellow MoreNichers
  • You attend our quarterly “all-hands on deck” weeks -the location for these changes from quarter to quarter

What are “all hands” weeks? These are week-long events where MoreNichers near and far descend on a location and spend a week collaborating, socialising and having a good laugh. It’s pretty awesome.

We can achieve so much more in a much smaller time frame when we’re all together. And it’s super important for connecting with and building strong relationships with your teammates Especially for our remote workers – it’s kinda difficult to know someone through a screen, don’t you think? Meeting your teammates face to face on the reg is the best way to really get to know them.
